The Mdeirej viaduct has a total length of 430 m divided into 11 spans of 40 m, with separate decks and substructures for each carriageway.

It is constructed with prefabricated beams connected with cast-in-situ diaphgrams which secure the structural continuity. The bridge crosses a wide and deep valley in straight line with the central piers at a considerable height of about 70 m maximum.

The viaduct overall width is 33.30 m (16.15 m + 16.15 m), which can serve consisting of three lanes plus one emergency lane per carriageway.

The deck is made up of three prefabricated “V shape ” 2.00 m deep & 5 m wide per carriageway. A 25 cm thick cast- in-situ slab is constructed on the top beams leading to a total deck depth of 2.25 m.

The beams were prefabricated directly on site by Toto.
