Fratelli Toto Snc was founded as a company specialising in transport and earth-moving works, on the initiative of three brothers: Ignazio, Mario and Carlo

A journey of growth that enabled it to develop from a sub-contractor to a construction firm led the business to evolve into a limited company, changing its business name to Toto Costruzioni Generali

Incorporation of the company Palmieri S.p.A. - a company equipped with consolidated experience in executing big public works

Toto became the largest producer of large, pre-fabricated elements in Italy, with its own company boasting 12 factories

The Group was awarded a contract in Lebanon to construct a motorway that comprised the tallest viaduct in the Middle East

Work on the “Martignano Tunnel” was completed; the tunnel was excavated with a mechanised system using the “Tecla” TBM

TOTO Costruzioni Generali commissioned the firm Herrenknecht to construct the biggest TBM in the world, which was used to create the “Sparvo Tunnel”

The TBM for the excavation of the Cefalù Tunnel is assembled at the Ogliastrillo site. Construction of the two Corten arches that will make up the new anti-seismic bridge over the River Po in the Province of Mantua is completed. Work continues on anti-seismic upgrading of A24 and A25 motorways.

Launch of the new anti-seismic bridge in the province of Mantua completed. "Margherita", the new Dual Mode TBM, begins work on the excavation of the Cefalù Tunnel.
