With this new order, the value of orders acquired over the past 12 months exceeds 300 million euros. Works portfolio at 600 million
Chieti, December 18, 2023. Toto Costruzioni Generali came first in the awarding of a new contract for the design and execution of earthquake-proofing works on five major viaducts of the A25 freeway, located between the Manoppello and Torre de’ Passeri interchanges, on behalf of Extraordinary Commissioner Avv. Marco Corsini. The value of the contract exceeds 130 million euros.
The contract involves the demolition and reconstruction of the viaducts, totaling 5.5 kilometers of roadway, to bring them up to the latest earthquake-resistant regulations. The work will be conducted following a strict timetable designed to minimize any interference with the highway road system, ensuring the usability of the infrastructure. Site operations will be carried out on one carriageway at a time, concentrating the most impactful activities even during night hours.
The timetable envisages the preparation of the technical feasibility design within 120 days from the handover of the services, then the executive design within the next 30 days, starting from the approval of the previous design phase, and following this, the execution of the works, which will have a total duration of 390 days.
This order confirms TCG’s presence and commitment to the safety of major works, for which the Company has considerable experience gained over the years on major construction sites completed and others still underway precisely on the Abruzzo and Lazio highways.
With this new contract, the value of the contracts awarded by Toto Costruzioni Generali during 2023 rises to more than 300 million euros, pushing the value of the order book, a solid foundation of the Company’s business plan, to about 600 million euros. In particular, the new contract constitutes the second section acquired by TCG for the securing of the A25 and adds in the area to the two lots the company is building for Anas on SS 260 “Picente.”
Toto aims to apply the latest technological solutions on infrastructure designed more than 50 years ago to ensure that the new viaducts will behave adequately in the event of new seismic events and have a useful life of at least 100 years. In fact, the three lots are part of a massive plan to rebuild and secure the highways between Lazio and Abruzzo that was planned by law as early as 2012, when the L’Aquila earthquake had recently tested infrastructure lacking adequate earthquake-proof design.
