Railway line Mestre – Udine

Customer: Ferrovie dello Stato

Work cost: € 3,869,947

This project involved doubling the existing railway line and constructing a new bridge over the river Tagliamento from the 97+954 km of the railway between Mestre and Udine.

Toto’s project included civil works, reinforcement and electrification works necessary for the construction of the bridge over the river Tagliamento. To construct it, pre-stressed reinforced concrete block beams were used to replace the existing metal beams. In addition to the double track of the railway, all the systems and technologies required for electrification of the line were located on the deck.

An impressive feature of this work is the fact that during its construction the rail traffic was not interrupted.
