Prefabrication is a pivotal activity for Toto, which has strategically chosen to integrate vertically in order to: manage the entire work progress process, ensure product quality, develop construction techniques that reduce construction time and costs, and reduces time and cost of site logistics.

The high quality of the product, the construction methodology, the engineering specialization, the investment in R&D, the use of cutting-edge materials and, last but not least, the in-house production of prefabricated elements in plants specifically made on site, are the distinctive elements of this sector of activity.

Toto has taken advantage of its know-how as a prefabricator on various projects, using an industrialised production logic applied to the various working phases:

  • In Lebanon, for the construction of one of the highest bridges in the Middle East, the 25-1 Mdeirej Viaduct, a manufacturing plant was built for the production of reinforced concrete beams, 40 metres long and weighing 168 tonnes.
  • S.S. 47 Valsugana, for the Martignano Tunnel, excavated with the Tecla TBM, 24,000 tunnel lining bars were produced onsite.
  • A1, for lots 6 and 7 of the Variante di Valico, the ashlar production plant for the Sparvo Tunnel, one of the largest in the world, had a record-breaking daily production.
  • The plant in Lunghezza (RM) for prefabrication of reinforced concrete and reinforced concrete beams, which have been awarded the CE mark – created to support the construction of the Complanare di Roma on the urban stretch of the A24.

Ashlar plant

A1 – Variante di Valico – lots 6/7

To build the Sparvo Tunnel (A1 Variante di Valico – lots 6/7) Toto Costruzioni Generali has built one of the world’s largest plants for the production of prefabricated ashlars, a short distance from the double barrel tunnel, a true excellence in the sector.

Beam Plant

A 24 – Complanare di Rome – Lunghezza (RM)

Within the prefabrication plant there are three main production lines; one relating to the construction of reinforced concrete beams, and two related to the construction of support walls and predalles for reinforced concrete bridges.
